Let's hear and see mods some of the mods you have done to improve your S-2000 chassis.

Bar risers and aftermarket bars are for sure a plus. i dropped a tooth on the top gear which helped a bit. Added precision ski's this year which i haven't had a chance to try... and probably never will by the way the weather is here.

What does "dropping a tooth" do for performance? Is it a low end gain or a top end gain? is it for pulling or for speed? Will it effect engine longevity? Is it something I should do for trail riding, off trail ditch banging or lake racing?

Sorry for so many questions I'm pretty new to this stuff and looking to improve my ride.(2000 Summit 700 136")

Boy best mod done? LOL! Well probably getting the Machz tripple instead of the twin. Then since I ride mountains going to the 16X159X2.25 track. Then lots of light weight parts to get it lighter than with the twin. The M-10 made the sled handle way better and was more in control. The skis were definately an improvement for sure in the way it handles and adding the rebuildable aluminum bodied shocks made the front match the M-10 better.

Getting the seat raised up and raising the handle bars definately made it more comfortable to ride also.

My buddy did it with my old 97 Summit it is was great except he used a seat from an 04 and they are rounded out to much for the smaller running boards for stand up riding which is what we do a lot of when mountain riding. If you do it I would recommend the 06 for the newer seat since they are narrower.

It is hard to see in my signature picture but what I did was put a 2 inch raise block under the seat. It is a zx chasis boss seat and then I made a framework to go under the seat out of 2 inch square thinwall alumminum. Feels way different with the seat raised. Makes it easy to go from sitting to standing.

do I need to adjust clutching if I drop a gear? I have been thinking alot about dropping a tooth but dont want to have to reclutch. I have stock clutching with 3200 miles on it and this is hopefully the last year for this sled> it will probably get parted out next summer and buy something newer/bigger than the 98 mxz 500 currently.
